Key to any fertility program, our laboratory team supports our exceptional SART (Society for Assisted Reproductive Technologies) data. Greenwich Fertility Center's laboratory staff is focused on the highest quality outcomes and exceptional standards for which we are known .

Our team of nurses is a small, highly specialized group providing continuity of care coupled with the highest service excellence standards that our patients have come to expect. We are cutting edge in the field of IVF and are passionate about our patient centered care.

Our patient support staff is here for you, to guide you and help you through the maze of infertility questions that you might have. Whether it is setting up an initial appointment or dealing with questions regarding finances, we have extensive knowledge working with infertility patients and work together as a team to make sure that you receive the best possible care.

Kate Weber, RN

Registered Nurse

Kate’s professional development includes attaining her MSN from the University of Virginia and is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.  Kate operates as a patient advocate, focusing on patient/family-centered care.  Kate’s ability to connect with patients and walk them through the IVF process is what most people compliment her on.

Alan S. Berkeley, MD

Practice Director

Dr. Berkeley oversees the NYU Fertility Center team of reproductive specialists who work in conjunction with our Greenwich physicians.

Board-certified in OB-GYN, Dr. Berkeley has been a leader in the field of infertility and assisted reproduction since 1979. Prior to becoming Medical Director of the NYU Fertility Center in 1995, he founded the IVF Program at NY Hospital-Cornell University School of Medicine in 1986. He received his medical degree from New York Medical College, and his internship at George Washington University Hospital and residency in OB-GYN at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Roberto Olivares

Embryology Lab Supervisor

Roberto received his bachelor’s degree in biology and master’s degree in human genetics from Los Andes University in Colombia. He has been working in IVF laboratories for more than 30 years and is highly experienced in all aspects of IVF including micromanipulation techniques and embryo biopsies for preimplementation genetic diagnostics.

Roberto has worked at some of the largest IVF laboratories in the United States. He is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and American Association of Bioanalysts. Roberto enjoys writing publications regarding embryo cryopreservation and embryo biopsies.

Angelita Dimacali

Senior Embryologist

Angie graduated with a degree in medical technology from Manila Central University, Philippines. She received her master’s degree in clinical embryology from the University of Leeds in the U.K. She got her IVF training from the Georg-August University, Goettingen, Germany under the mentorship of Professor Hans Wilhelm Michelmann. She has 18 years of experience in all aspects of assisted reproductive techniques. She is an active member of ASRM, ABB & ESHRE.

Sheri Klein

Senior Embryologist

Sheri received a bachelor’s degree in biology from College of Charleston and received a bachelor’s degree in medical technology from Medical University of South Carolina. She has been an Embryologist for 28 years and is involved in all aspects of the IVF laboratory. Sheri has been a member of the Greenwich Fertility team for over 4 years.

Maria Galli, AAS, ASCP

Senior Andrologist/Lab Technologist

Maria’s commitment as a laboratory technologist covers over 30 years in chemistry, hematology, microbiology and cytogenetics. In 2005, she joined the Greenwich Fertility Center as an Andrology Lab Tech and found great reward in the opportunity to assist patients seeking to achieve a pregnancy. Her superb laboratory skills coupled with her comforting manner with patients having semen analyses and artificial inseminations (IUIs) have won recognition in Greenwich Hospital’s Quality Award program.

Lilian Gatchalian, BSMT, ASCP

Andrology/Lab Technologist

Graduating with highest honors, Lilian received her bachelor’s degree in medical technology from San Juan de Dios Hospital School of Medical Technology in the Philippines. Her post-graduate work was completed at St. Mary’s Hospital in Brooklyn. An extensive laboratory career expanding over 30 years led her to the specialty of Andrology in 2003, and in 2009 she joined the Greenwich Fertility Center. Lilian is a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. Lillian has eleven years of hematology experience.

Delia Santacruz

IVF Surgical Technologist

Having over 14 years of experience in the OR, Delia is a skilled IVF Surgical Technologist who is an asset to the Greenwich Fertility team.  She is a friendly face to our patients and focuses on service excellence when assisting the staff daily.   Her dedication to the seamless functioning of the OR is unwaivered.

Angela Downey, RN

Fertility Preservation Coordinator

Angela has been a Registered Nurse since 2007 and also holds a bachelor of arts degree from Iona College. She is a seasoned professional fluent in reproductive medicine and serves as a Primary Care Nurse with outstanding patient care. Angela’s calming demeanor is apparent when working one on one during her private educational training sessions, something that our patients have come to rave about. Angela’s experience with fertility preservation and cancer patients enhances her nursing scope and competence.

Kathleen Magid, RN

SART Coordinator

Kathy received her nursing degree in 1973, bringing more than 40 years of experience in women’s healthcare to Greenwich Fertility. Prior to joining the specialty of reproductive medicine in 2000, Kathy’s nursing career focused on antepartum, postpartum, and labor and delivery in major urban hospitals as well as OB-GYN private offices. Kathy’s empathy and compassion, coupled with her superb clinical nursing skills, provide our patients with the special care and attention they deserve.

Christine Monroe, RN

Gestational Carrier Coordinator

Christine first worked in fertility as a Medical Technician before going back to school and achieving an associate’s degree in nursing from Excelsior College. With over 13 years of experience in the field of fertility, she is a wealth of knowledge for her patients. She is passionate about guiding patients through the process while being a strong patient advocate through education. Her background also includes egg donation and surrogacy, an area where individualized care and team collaboration are facilitated through her expertise. Christine’s empathy coupled with her distinct background offers our patients the highest standards of nursing care.

Karen Sewitch, RN

Egg Bank Coordinator

Karen received her nursing degree from Adelphi University and a master’s degree in nursing education from Columbia University Teachers College. Prior to being a Research Nurse in the Department of OB-GYN at Cornell University Medical College, Karen was a Clinical Staff Nurse in Women’s Health at The New York Hospital. Karen’s enthusiasm and expertise has aided her in her role as the Coordinator of our egg donor program.

Janelle Alvia

Medical Assistant

Janelle’s friendly and energetic personality is what patients love most about her. You may find her drawing your blood or assisting our doctors, but you will always find her doing her best to make each and every patient feel as comfortable as she can. She has worked in the medical field since 2008 in several different specialties with a main focus on obstetrics and gynecology, prior to joining us at Greenwich Fertility.

Blanca Baizan

Medical Assistant

Blanca has been a Medical Assistant since 2005 with 7 years of  previous experience in OB/Gyn. Now, as an integral part of the embryology department in Greenwich Hospital, she assists all three embryologists with laboratory and administrative duties.

Alaina Velasquez

Medical Assistant

Alaina has 10 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in the OB/GYN field before coming aboard with IVF. Alaina Received her medical assistant certificate at Sanford Brown Institute She is a very happy, cheerful ,and caring person which had a success experience with IVF. You might see her assisting the doctors in the exam rooms or drawing your blood. She looks for opportunities to help with patient needs and keeps the flow going in the office.

Dana Groglio

Medical Secretary

Dana’s friendly personality and smile puts you at ease. She looks for opportunities to make each patient feel cared for by our team, knowing that patients want to receive the best care possible by first-class authorities. Dana is an experienced front desk/billing professional who has worked in both the male and female infertility fields for more than 7 years. Dana’s years in the field have helped her develop a very strong focus on patient satisfaction.

Joana Proenca

Medical Secretary

Joana’s medical proficiency with the front desk as well as billing and insurance issues makes her a dynamic skilled expert. Since 2007 she has worked in the medical field and goes above and beyond when dealing with our patients. Joana’s attention to detail and listening skills are what most patients love about her, but we know that her team approach and constant communication is what qualifies her.

Carmen (Gina) Triggs

Medical Secretary

Often the first person that you meet, Gina makes you feel welcome the second you walk into the door. She understands that patients are looking for a compassionate approach but also requires high quality from every aspect of their care. With more than 6 years of experience working with fertility patients, Gina has the patient’s true interest at heart and enjoys the individual interactions with each of our patients.

Elaine Morales

Financial Practice Coordinator

Elaine has been with Greenwich Fertility for more than 11 years. She has exceptional billing and insurance training, and is able to navigate and work directly with insurance companies through the financial challenges that patients may face. She understands that fertility patients are different, often requiring direct one-on-one counseling and emotional support. She strives for service excellence and works as a mentor to new staff members.
